Jennifer Fantini is a Partner in the Labour and Employment Law Group of Borden LadnerGervais LLP. She graduated from the University of Toronto with Bachelor of Arts in 1995, majoring in labour-management relations. Jennifer then completed a joint M.B.A./LL.B. at York University/Osgoode Hall Law School, graduating in 1999. Jennifer was called to the Bar of Ontario (2001) and British Columbia (2016) and practices in both jurisdictions.
Jennifer advises public and private sector employers with respect to employee discipline and termination; wrongful dismissal; employment policies and contracts; employment standards; human rights issues; employment contracts and wrongful dismissal. She also acts for employers in litigation involving wrongful dismissal claims, injunctions and other related matters. Jennifer is an experienced workplace investigator and is often retained to conduct impartial investigations involving harassment and discrimination complaints, breach of respectful workplace policies,
employee fraud and other matters.
Jennifer is a co-author of Quitting for Good Reason: The Law of Constructive Dismissal in
Canada, with the Honourable Mr. Justice Randall Scott Echlin, and has written numerous articles
and publications on employment law topics. Jennifer has been recognized as one of Lexpert®’s
Rising Stars – Leading Lawyers Under 40 (2012), and in Chambers Canada – Canada's Leading
Lawyers for Business (Employment & Labour: British Columbia, 2016 and 2017), as well as
being selected by peers for inclusion in the 2019 edition (and since 2016) of The Best Lawyers in
Canada (Labour and Employment Law).
